Hmm... did this happen even after you saved/reopened the file? Can you give me some steps to reproduce this? It seems to work properly for me, but there could well be a bug.
Also using apple i to get a new bar needs the section listed to be hi-lighted?? Confusing
Well, the pattern editor needs to have input focus (meaning you have to first either click in or tab to it after creating the new section). I agree that is a bit lame, I'll try to fix that.
I also noticed that the section doesn't show the Bar #'s it uses
