By "the Finder window" I presume you mean the regular Open dialog -- are you able to select a dbkit file? You don't say what happens in between the appearance of this dialog and then being back in the song window. Is DB entirely locking up while the dialog is open?

Bummer, I'm sorry to hear that Doggiebox has failed you Adrian! This kind of thing is perhaps somewhat to be expected in betas, but nonetheless is always frustrating. If you can document a set of steps which will reliably reproduce the symptom then it will help solve it... otherwise, I will do my best to investigate, and I gently recommend everyone save their work regularly.
