Haven't been doing much with DB lately either. I did a couple of quick demos for ideas using the Tama Swingstar Kit. I've actually been spending more time recording live bands to 1/2" tape and mixing in the analog world. Spinning knobs in real time and learning where the "awesome" button is on the outboard stuff. yes... perhaps when it gets cooler... yes... 97 in Seattle/Tacoma last week. Ugh. Summertime is a rough period to park oneself before their mac and devote lots of time to programming. That is, for those of us not free to roam with laptops.
I have done a couple of things with my "Behan Box II" kit, and I've been digging the garage sound it gives me.
I'm dying to use the "70's Ludwig Kit" on something. I really dig the approach to the different snare sounds there. The "buzz", "flam", and "rim" sounds all offer some nice possiblities.
Autumn's coming. My productivity increases with crisp cool weather.
