I use 10.5.4. Since the problem is a fact, maybe some one who is more experienced than me with Logic and midi, could shed some light on the possibility to use the mmc feature to record directly to Logic? I have no idea what I'm talking about, but maybe it could work? I see that the Logic caps lock keyboard is an option in the input section of doggiebox' midi device control, so why not the other way? When I export midi from doggiebox, then import that midi to Logic Pro 8, the midi-file does not follow my project tempo. Nor is it possible to adjust the tempo of the midi region with the tempo-line. The tempo is not even the same in the exported midi file and an exported audio file. What gives?
Hmm, I'm not sure how thoroughly the MIDI export was ever tested, so perhaps there is some old, underlying issue that is only now coming to the surface ....
Alternatively -- what version of OS X are you using? I remember there were a lot of issues with getting DB to play nicely on both Tiger and Leopard, and maybe something in Leopard has made MIDI- export a casualty without anyone noticing until now?
Has anyone else used the MIDI export much? I used the MMC feature a lot until I had to sell my VS-1680 last year before moving, and that always worked pretty well -- but I never really used MIDI export seriously.
Of course, we probably need Ben to re-emerge from his enchanted sleep to answer these questions! :)
Cheers, Carl
