Has anyone thought of making a few basic rock beats available to d/l? It would be a huge help to those of us having trouble getting the step-writing thing going. I've been going to a few free drum lesson sites and putting in some of the charts to get a grasp of this but most of that stuff is rudiments and aren't really all that useful for jamming with. To see a few useable (even typical) beats and be able to de-construct them would do wonders. Though I understand that most people using this software already know what their doing, nor do i expect them to hold my hand.
There already are a couple of these available at the library: <http://www.doggiebox.com/library/> When I get the chance, I'll upload a few things I have that could be easily shared, too. I can think of three things from my files already--some Buzzcocks-style syncopated power-pop drumming (166 bpm!), a basic 6/8 drum pattern (about 120 bpm), and a slow 4/4 pattern (88 bpm, I think). I'll do this next time I boot into OSX. Carl -- ********** Carl Freire Oakland, California cfreire@ix.netcom.com cfreire@uclink4.berkeley.edu
