Hi,
every time I post here, a new thread is created instead of an answer to a previous question. How do you guys manage to answer instead of opening a new thread for every answer?
I'm using netscape Mail (MS WIN2K) or Apple Mail (OS X)
Regards Thorsten
Try "reply to all" in your mail program. That way, it will go to the list as well as the individual whose message you're responding to.
Maybe this is it.
By the way, I agree that your vocal character is one that many people would dream to have. Add some ambience to the mix and either bring up the vocals a bit or lower some competing levels. Should be great stuff.

Ahhh, thanks! I did not respond to mails I got. I opened the list by thread in a browser and then clicked the mailto: link (upper left) to respond. I will re-subscribe to get every single mail of the list instead of the digest.
As for the mix: It was just a little test. A friend borrowed me his BR-8 and I tried to find out whether homerecording might be a new hobby for me. The song was written by a friend of mine. It has been my companion for years. He still performs it with his own folkrock band. They sound like a mix of Hootie & the blowfish, The Band, Tom Petty and Neil Young, hard to say, they definitely developed their own style over the years.
Normally I'm more a live musician. You can check out my little hobby band's website here: http://come.to/jailbreak Hope you'll be able to understand because all is written in German. Anyway, Rock & Roll is international, isn't it?
DOGGIEBOX ROCKS! Thorsten

Isn't home recording a hobby for all of us? Isn't that why we bought Doggiebox? :) Your track was a good start. Especially if it was your first shot.
Gretsch, Tele backup... nice. Me too. I also use a Heritage H-140.

Hi Corey,
I never touched a recording machine before. All I wanted was to avoid buying stuff that isn't made for me (or vice versa). And, to be honest, I had sleepless nights since then. I'm considering buying a tascam 2488. The band's members live all over (east) Germany and we meet approx. 10 times a year. So homercording might be a good thing to overcome the time between the gigs and rehearsals. We can share the things and develop ideas without seeing each other every week. That's the main intention. And with the 2488 we would be able to record rehearsals or even live gigs an 8 tracks simultaneously. After I told him about Doggiebox , my drummer is afraid that he will be fired in the near future ;-)
Bye Thorsten
