Ben,
How hard would it be to include an "export sound" button in the kit building window? Sometimes, when building a kit, or modifying another's kit, it is neccessary to tweak a sound and import it back into a revised DB kit.
Example: my ns_kit that I sent you has a ride crash in it that has a tiny bit of excess space at the front of it, causing it to sound like it's slightly mis-hit when played in a song. I want to export the sound, clip the start, and import it back in. My original sound file is (hypothetically) not available. Currently, I must put the sound into a song, export it, edit it, then import it back. It would be great to save the song building step and just export it from the kit.
Having said all that, it would be a redundant feature if you decided that it was worthwhile to implement the export of discreet drum sounds from a song file. In other words, I could more easily post process the sounds if they could be exported as separate wave files, making the "export sound" button not as important.
I appreciate you listening. I hope others are finding the application as useful and rewarding to use as I am. I'm getting pretty good reviews from the folks that I've either programmed tracks for, or who have heard my stuff in songs.
Thanks again in advance for whatever you come up with next.

Yes, absolutely. This will definitely be present in the next revision of the kit editor, which is one of the next things I am going to tackle. Same idea for the drum icons, as right now you can't export/reuse the graphics without first having them in external files, which is a nuisance.

I want to eventually add this support too, with some kind of mixing controls for soloing or muting drums in the mix. I think both of these features, while similar, would both be hugely useful in their own right and not particularly redundant.

Awesome! I love hearing this kind of feedback, and I appreciate the continued support and enthusiasm. Rest assured that all of the suggestions and ideas are taken to heart -- my response on incorporating things tends to be slow sometimes (especially recently) but that's not due to lack of interest or desire!

Hello everyone,
I bought DB some months back and have been watching the list as I try to get better on the REAL drums I have. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has any time saving tips on creating drum kits? I've tried dragging sounds onto the drum widow (wow, that would be cool) and from one drum kit to another....but that kind of stuff doesn't seem to work.
Is there any way to import a folder of sounds? What if you need 10 drums from one kit and three from another in a third kit? Is there a quick way to do that?
Many many thanks for this great app,
Jesse LaVere

Hey Jesse,
As you've discovered, neither of those techniques work. They're good ideas though, and I'll take note of them for further improvement of the kit editor.
The best you can do at the moment is create a new drum, then drag the sound file into the sound wave well.
As for moving drums between kits, you can't drag/drop yet, but you can copy and paste.
