I'm having an odd problem with AIFF files exported from DoggieBox. Though they open and play fine in QT player, I can't seem to open them in Deck (via "Add sound to library"). I am able to access them in Deck if I first open and re-save the file in Amadeus II, even though I leave the format (44.1 Khz, 16 bit) the same. One difference I notice is that in Finder, the DB output's "Kind" is shown as "AIFC Audio", where Amadeus's is "Audio IFF Document". Do you know what the distinction is? -- Lee

Hi Lee, and others, Following up on this... are you still having this behaviour with DB 1.0.1? I just tried exporting the demo song, using the default settings (AIFF, signed 16 bit), and the finder info describes it as "AIFF Audio File" -- not what I was expecting! Indeed, doing a dump of the file shows it is saving as a FORM AIFF, not an AIFC. Now, this is on my iBook with 10.2.4. I will be able to test this again on my G4 system when I am back tomorrow, but I don't expect the result to be different. Having said that, I was pretty sure from before that I too was seeing "AIFC Audio" in the finder description. So has this fixed itself, or is something still amiss? :) -ben -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca
