thanks for gettin back to us Ben I`ve actually been playing with the new build all day, and as I get used to it, I have to say its a major improvement over the last one. At first it seemed pretty random (its still a bit buggy), but I think the idea behind it is great. Being able to work on just a section at a time is great, but I need to look at the whole song at times to work it out... a great feature would be the abilitiy to mark parts (eg. verse, chorus, etc) with color coding, or some feature that make them instantly recognizable when you show "all" in the layout window. Right now it`s like greek -- my girlfirend took one look at it and said "how can you make sense out of all those squares and circles? " I guess the simple abilty to mark the "top" of the bars with a color and a tag would do the trick... or the ability to have a "blank" bar that signifies change... This is a great idea. I second it. I'd also like to suggest a "zoom" feature, like iPhoto uses when displaying thumbnails. How cool would it be to be able to pinpoint your target bar in a zoomed- out mode, then pop to 100% zoom to continue editing. I've mentioned the iPhoto analogy, but also think about how Illustrator or Photoshop's Navigator windows work. On Monday, March 1, 2004, at 06:10 PM, Tor Lillegraven wrote:

Hmm... great idea. What visual elements would be important to preserve in such a view? Would you want to see simply a visually shrunken version of everything (à la Exposé in Panther)? -ben -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca

I think that the measure number is critical to preserve. Beyond that, I suppose anything else might be subject to widely fluctuating user opinion. A case could be made that the instrument icons placed in the pattern are crucial bits of information. I know that I tend to recognize patterns as much by how they "look" as by number. Is it possible to shrink everything except the pattern number, then have a flyover thumbnail of the pattern? Just a thought. On Tuesday, March 2, 2004, at 11:23 AM, Ben Kennedy wrote:
