Here's the first set of info from the Doggiebox crash log - sorry for pasting it all - I'm no programmer! Norton utils did throw up some major problems with the OS, so I fixed them and updated the sys, but still no joy.
What kind of problems?
File allocation mostly. The hard disk is quite full. Safari seems to be the only other program which doesn't run properly - it crashes whenever it encounters javascript. I wonder if some essential system component that Doggiebox uses has been overwritten by another file?

This doesn't really help; it indicates a crash that occurred over a month ago. (unless your system clock is wrong...)
If that was the most recent entry in the crash log, then I guess it's not logging anything.
What about in the system log (console)?
Did I ask you already if you used Stuffit Expander 8.0 to decompress the archive?

Can't see any reference to doggiebox in the console.log file. I did use expander 8.0 - I guess everything will be ok when I get round to Panther. Sion

That's the problem. Expander 8.0 is f**cked. This issue is getting tiresome to answer... damn Aladdin. Maybe I should put something in the release notes. Anyway, get the newest version of expander, and you should find it will work. <http://www.doggiebox.com/faq.php> -ben -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca
Umm... Ben, I'm ashamed to say that I haven't looked at the release notes for quite a few versions now. I suspect the same may be true of others and that the notice may go... well... un-noticed. You might want to type up a canned response to this issue, then save it as a draft. Paste it into all appropriate email responses to the issue, thus at least saving yourself some typing! Good luck. Well, most of the time I've copied the meat of what's in them to this list in my build announcements anyway so you haven't really been missing much.

Probably a better idea. I'm surprised, though, how many people suddenly start having this problem. I don't know how long 8.0.1 has been out (which apparently fixes that bug), but I'm a bit surprised that people seem still to be going from 7.x (or whatever worked before) to 8.0 (which is broken) instead of 8.0.1. Oh well. -ben -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca
