Gotch ya - another suggestion - it might be better when you add a Section, the Name is ready for input, so you can create a new section and just start typing its name -
Good suggestion; done.
also having a keyboard short cut (apple - something) would speed up the process.
Also a good idea; now you can hit return when the list has input focus to begin editing the current name.
Also, by default when you add a Section, have this mirrored in the Layout section. (and make the description the same as the Section Name) - This may not suit all, but if not, you're no worse off. I found I created a Section - named it Intro, then selected it in the Layout area - then re-named that description to Intro.
Ok, new sections added to the layout list now default to having the same name as the section instead of "unnamed". I hesitate to have markers (i.e. sections in the layout list) created automatically for any new sections, because this may not always be what the user wants. E.g. workflow might be to create a bunch of sections, then lay out the song later, without a 1-to-1 linear correspondence. Furthermore, once you create a section, you need only click once to create a corresponding marker in the layout list anyhow.
Better would be hit apple -key (adds a section - type name - hit return, this turns the focus to the song area ready for an Apple i to insert some bars. The Layout has the new section already included and named.
Talking of Apple-keys, I've added key equivalents for these now (cmd-opt- N and cmd-opt-M respectively), along with menu commands to the Pattern menu. Alternative suggestions are welcome. I think we will need to either rename the Pattern menu or split it off into a Song menu also, before too long...
- previously you could see Verse 1 started at bar 15 and went to bar 34. The new system showing duration is better - just needed me to get my head around it.
To compromise I've changed it to appear like it does in the section list -- showing the first bar number, then the cue time in parenthesis beside it.
