Doggieboxed song: ***************** OK, so here it goes: http://www.tkummer.de/lousylovers/Time_dont_wait_compressor.mp3
It's a 3 minute song that I've recorded last week using - doggiebox (Hemberger Kit) exported to 2 tracks on a Boss BR-8 - guitars, bass, and vocals performed by me :-)
GarageBand Kits: *************** I was a little disappointed because I thought, the whole kits (incl. AIFF files) are included. I figured out that there's only a link to the files. I don't have Garageband, so it looks worthless for me ...
Did I find a bug? ************** I tried to modify the existing Hemberger kit (lower the volume of the HiHat). When I triy to save my changes it says: "Unable to save the document" (or something like that, I forgot, sorry). Do I miss something?

Very nice Thorsten! It's catchy, guitars are clean, vocals have a good character to them. Only a couple of remarks: - the overall mix sounds muddy, as though it were low-passed at 10 khz or something, sup with that? - turn up your vocals a little bit.
Nice work though.

It's true, in order to use them you require Garageband to be installed. I expect Apple would come after me if I started re-distributing their sound files. :) (Having said that, I haven't actually looked around for licensing/copyright documentation... if it turns out those sounds are in the public domain or something, that might open up some new avenues.)

Do a "save as" under a new filename, and then the problem should go away. This is an artifact related to opening a pre-1.2 dbkit and then re- saving it -- since the new-style kits are actually bundles, there's a problem with overwriting the old one (which is a flat file). I will try to eliminate this quirk though, thanks for bringing it up.

Sounds good. Tom Petty / Allman-ish.
IMHO, you've slammed it too hard with the compressor. (I'm assuming that's what _compressor.mp3 means) The parts individually feel a little dry in the mix although they really are performed well. Try to bring the vocals out more. They are buried in spots. Cool song. I like the breakdown in the middle.
Best, Corey
