1. talking about swing ( Pesji )
Pesji--
So far what I've done to mimic swing or shuffle beats is to use a normal 4/4 at the tempo for which the song is intended, and then expand the editing screen in DB so that it has either three or six (or twelve if I'm getting really silly with fills) boxes available in each beat. This allows for a very square (or triangular?) triplet feel to be used. Here's a pattern I put together to illustrate... I'm probably supposed to upload this to the site first, but I'm heading out the door and this is easier. ;-) If you don't have the latest Hemberger kit (or David's kit) I'd recommend it, as it has a good range of hits for each drum. But you can map this to very basic hits and still get the idea.

I will try your method and I let you know how groovy the swing drums will be, thanks for taking your time to explain basics to a newbie like me, my guitar is ready to groove along the shuffle beat ;o)
Hey, if you get it working, post the dbsong file on the web or send it to Ben for the DB library. Then ye olde blues shuffle will be there as an example for all and for all time (more or less :) Cheers, Carl -- Carl Edlund Anderson http://www.carlaz.com/
