I posted one of my tracks with DB drums on macidol.com, and somone asked if it had real drums -- so I got to say, "No, it's Doggiebox!" :) and provide a link to the DB site.
And this made me wonder: What's new in the world of Doggiebox? Anything? Ben?
We had DB 1.4.1 back in March, I think, but it's kind of gone quiet again ....
Cheers, Carl

A little news would be nice...
On a similar note, my band Aviatik (www.aviatikrock.com) released our album a few months back, and while we have a drummer, all the drums on the album were done in Doggiebox. I'll probably post the kit we used soon, it's all sampled from his actual drumkit, and we made sure that what you hear on the album is exactly what he plays live. Nobody's noticed that the drums aren't real!
You can download the entire album for free from our website! Check it out, if you like it you can order an actual copy!
On our new material we plan to record live drums, but we're still using Doggiebox for all our demoing - truly a wonderful tool.
Take care all! Michael

I would love to get some more drums sounds for Doggiebox. I am a new user and just switched from using a drum machine. I love this software. My primary use is to build rhythms that I can practice bass with.
Thanks, Curtis

I remember various discussions about free or cheap drum samples that could be used in Doggiebox at various times in the past, including links to the same. It ought to be possible to search the archives for some of these, I think.
If you haven't already checked it (though you probably have) the Doggiebox web site has a number of downloadable kits with different sample sets.

Very interesting - I've only listened to it once, and the drums sound pretty good, it would be a brave man that bets that they're not played live.
While it's not really my cup of tea, but I hope the give away mp3's works for you.
Cheers
Charlie

I've taken a sort of lower-fi, anti programming attitude lately. Although that might imply that I'm against drum programming, what I really mean is that I've taken a more natural approach to writing and recording. I got myself a drum kit and so far, so good.
I will use them for writing and getting song ideas to tape (disk actually... I'm just full of contradictions today).
If something holds promise, I have the option to DB the drum parts for the finished product, or get a real drummer to sit in and record parts.
This winter, if feeling like it, I may sample this kit and build another DB kit.

I've also been playing live drums more lately and intend to _at some point_ build a Doggiebox kit from samples of my '65 Sonor kit. I'll have to share it when I get it put together.
