Hey Lori, Nice talking with you earlier. I've played around with both MidiO and GarageBand Remote. It appears to me that MidiO doesn't do what we want here -- it will send MIDI notes to another app, but we're concerned with the start and stop commands, which as far as I can tell it does not send (probably because GB does not generate). I've had a little bit of luck with GB Remote, though. Try this: 1. go into its MIDI setup, and specify the following for the Play button: F0 7F 7F 06 03 F7 (this is the MMC Deferred Play command that Doggiebox sends) 2. launch both Garageband and Doggiebox. 3. in the Doggiebox preferences, set the MIDI input source to "none", and the output target to "IAC Driver IAC bus 1". Now, when you hit Play in Doggiebox, Garageband should start playing back at the same time. This is somewhat limited though, because hitting stop in Doggie will not stop Garageband; nor are the positions automatically synced (you have to make sure that the GB song is cued at the start). And, you have to hit Play within I've emailed the GB Remote guy though to see if I can find out how he is communicating with Garageband, and see if somehow I can integrate that directly with Doggie. -b -- Ben Kennedy, chief magician zygoat creative technical services 613-228-3392 | 1-866-466-4628 http://www.zygoat.ca
