Ben Kennedy meinte doch tatsächlich:
What about erasing? click = closed hat, click = open hat, click = nothing? That would leave the behaviour consistent with drums that have only one variant. Another option is to have e.g. option-click erase the drum, but then the behaviour would be counter-intuitive for one-variant drums (e.g. bass drum: click = normal bass drum, click = ...normal bass drum again, bad)
ok, how about making this drag'n'dropable? that way, you could just use standard mac ui-behaviour... click on empty = closed hat click on non-empty = selection click'n'hold = move option-click = mute ctrl-click = popup of instruments shift-ctrl-click = volume slider shift-click = multiple selections command-click = multiple, non-contingous selections on multiple selections, modifications are applied to all selected items. you can use mute instead of delete (non-destructive "deletion") and use the delete key to actually delete. and if one happens to hit the wrong bar when trying to place the third instrument in a group, it's one click'drag'drop away from the right position instead of click-click-click "uuups" click click-click-click :) same goes for all sorts of mods: set all hi-hats, select the two or three you want to be "open", ctrl-click, select, voila. hm? m
