Just thought I'd post up a work in progress of my Warren Street Db kit. Work is piling up a bit at the moment, so I may not be able to get back on to it for a while - but thought you guys would like to check it out so far.

I think its mostly the hi hats that still need attention. I've been trying to organize them by ear rather than filename. To my ears, there is one main useful progression from hh tap to open long hh, I've represented this with a dot which expands to a line as the duration increases, also the line fattens with velocity. The difference in vertical position is there just to add being able to differentiate between lengths of hit. Also I've numbered this progression as an extra cue. There are some of the other hh samples included - don't know what to do with these yet! Also there are some different ones using closed mic. The hh samples are quite different to the other samples. Would appreciate anyone's thoughts on how this might be made better.
I think the other kit icons work fine though. I've returned to a colour system to differentiate the different drums blue for kick; red for snare; green for toms. Also a variation in the colours - light green for hi tom, deep for floor. The hardest hit kick is a darker blue too. For the snare, there seemed to be two sample progressions, and although not labeled, I'm guessing that this is left and right strike, so have ordered them as such. There is a little left and right dot to indicate which one is which. I've also separated them out by a few percent in the pan.
Velocities are indicated by 4 sized circles and where there are variations on a similar strike, I've put numbers in the circle so its easy to see at a glance. Most velocities have a few variations.
One big omission is a ride. Maybe one from another kit can be added later.
I like this kit a lot as there are no too many variations in velocities to be un-manageable, but enough to give very good expression especially in kick, snare and tom combinations.
One thing I have noticed is that the toms are a little basey, so filtering out the very deep bass in Garageband might be a good idea.
Also included in the download is a sample db track ('The End' by the Beatles, as its got a good drum solo in the middle) and the photoshop file I used for the icons.
Enjoy :-)
