Great new kit David You're right - Its like an improved vi kit - which is good for me as I've been veering back to that one lately. You've added loads of imaginative additions which adds to the 'real drummer' result. I think some of your ideas should be taken up by others who are thinking of constructing a kit. Thanks for taking the time to do this and for remembering about my request for the tambourine L & R hits too - fits really well in the kit. Like the Cutouts tracks especially the third. Actually this goes back to something someone else said a few weeks ago on the list - that a real live drummer plays like a (musical) instrument - responding to the other musicians throuought the track. Nice logo for the cutouts too! A half-finished demo is on my site using viii (in conjunction with a retro yamaha keyboard drum sound!) hi folks,
i have finally found some time to assemble the third in the 70sLudwigKit series. this definitely sucks less than the vII kit. of course, no one drum sound fits all tastes so your mileage may vary.
the compressed zip file is ~20MB and the uncompressed kit is a whopping 100+MB. there's 80 or so individual sounds. i made new icons, with screwy combinations of iconography and color to make things a bit more readable (at least to me).
the sad news is that this is the last in the line... i sold the kit.
enjoy! and let me know what you think. a test arrangement is included. sort of a sped-up tweaked-out bo diddley kinda thing.

cheers, david.
thanks for the feedback sion. i really like your demo recording. i especially like the way you move the drum sound forward and backward in the mix. i reminds me of the famous drummer saying... "dynamics man, dynamics." i need to do more of that in my own playing. the cutouts logo was designed by david king. david did a lot of great early punk logo work, the broken rekids logo, crass record label, raining house, etc. he also played drums for the sleeping dogs a post-punk / experimental group from the 70s/80s. here's his website: http://www.davidanthonyking.com/illustration/ if you need any logos done, he's the man! david.
