Zoom In/Zoom Out affects all sections in a dbsong?

I feel like this is behavior I haven’t noticed before, but I was just working on a new piece and, whenever I select a give section (or bar of a section) and try to zoom in/out, the zoom seems to affect _all_ sections in the dbsong, whether or not they are even visible at the moment. This is making me slightly crazy, since I seem to have inserted new bars at different “zoom levels”, so whenever I zoom in or out, ALL the bars/section zoom in and out relative to each other. I can’t get them all at the same “zoom level”. Anyone else encountered this? I feel like it used to be possible to control the zoom of individual bars/sections independently, so I wonder if this is an artifact of some relatively recent OSX update thing ….? Registration key

I just want a registration key! I bought a new licence today and the e-mail failed to generate a key. How do you actually get in touch with anyone to resolve this?!!!!!! (I¹ve already e-mailed them twice, with no response) Any help welcome Cheers SIg

Choose kit doesn't load?

I'm having a curious problem in which if I try to open an old dbsong for which I no longer have a dbkit of the expected name, while Doggiebox gives me the option to choose a new dbkit when it opens the Finder-style window for choosing a new kit, nothing appears -- just the little spinning thing down in the lower lefthand corner. There are certainly kits in the folder, it's just not displaying them, or anything else that might be there. You can use the drop-down location choice menu at the top of the menu to move to other folders, but nothing ever appears and the little spinny thing keeps on spinning! Eventually, if you cancel, you get a message telling you you can't open the dbsong because you have to assign a dbkit. The workaround is to make a copy of another kit with the same name that as the expected dbkit in the old dbsong. But it would be better if the option to choose a different kit Just Worked! :) Any ideas? Cheers, Carl -- Carl Edlund Anderson http://www.carlaz.com/

Groups for Rides and Hats?

Hey all, In dbkits you've put together, which Group do you place ride cymbals in? So far, I've put rides in Group 4, along with high hats for little better reason than I think of using rides in a manner similar to hats. But more recently, in terms of mixing, I have been wondering whether it would be better to put rides in Group 5, where I have placed other cymbals? Would that possibly be more realistic in terms of typical drum mic'ing techniques? (About which I know virtually nothing, being almost entirely a "Doggiebox drummer"! ;)) The question came up because I have been mixing a new recording with DB drums in GarageBand, and I found that for one section where I switched from hats to rides, my rides were pretty low in the mix unless I ramped up the Master Volume controls for the individual ride sample Variants fairly aggressively in the dbkit editor. I haven't tried moving the rides over from Group 4 to Group 5 (wish there was a way to drag and drop Instruments, with all their Variants, between Groups! Or adjust the Master Volume settings for a whole set of Instrument Variants at once!) because I don't want to go through all that work as an experiment :) but I am wondering how this is approached by you others out there ..... Still haven't found a program that as adaptable as Doggiebox. My duo, Les Freres Meduses just got finished writing a little article about it that will be published in Soundboard magazine. Will it ever come out for PC? Also, I miss the old tempo slidebar in the earlier versions. All the best, Randall

Changing time signature for whole song

I have a dbsong which is all in 3/4, but I'd like to change it to 6/8. However, I don't seem to be able to select the whole song and make the change effectively, or even select a whole section of multiple bars and make the change. Or, rather, if I try to do these things, DB seems to change some bars, but not others -- resulting in some curious weirdness. Weird flickering cursor?

Hi all, In the wake of what I presume were some final "pre-Mountain Lion" system updates via Software Update, I find Doggiebox giving me a weird flickering cursor when I mouse-over editable window area in Doggiebox. Well, actually, there are two slightly different versions of the flickering cursor. When I mouse-over the editable drum area, the cursor flickers rapidly between the upright "I"-beam style cursor and the little icon for the selected drum sound; when I mouse-over the horizontal bar that allows one to select the whole measure, the cursor flickers rapidly between the upright "I"-beam style cursor and the pointy-arrow-style cursor. This doesn't seem to diminish my ability to use the application, but it is a bit weird and distracting. Anyone else encounter anything similar? Really, I can't say for sure, of course, that the recent system updates are to blame ... Only that I was using DB a few days ago without a flickering cursor, and now with one, and I have only some software updates at which to point a suspicious finger. Here's a link to a new song on box.com that I just finished. I used sounds from my NS Kit (sounds no longer available it seems). I think the drums came out pretty natural sounding, which is good given that NS used to stand for Natural Studio.
